(BwD Parents in Partnership- BwD PIP) Parent/Carer Forum
We are the parent carer forum within Blackburn with Darwen, for parents/carers of children/young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities from 0-25 years. We work in co-production with Children and Young Peoples' Services, Health, the Local Authority and voluntary groups to and represent parents in these meetings, to influence and shape services for parents, carers and children/young people in the borough.
We organise regular coffee mornings, workshops, forums, parents sessions and the annual Disability Information Day in conjunction with the local authority.
The parent carer forum is the recognised body for feeding back the views of parents/carers in the borough.
We are members of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums, and are backed by the charity "Contact - for disabled families"

Our website has just had a revamp! Come and have a look at www.bwdpip.org.uk
BwD PIP is run by volunteers, we are all parents/carers of children with additional needs ourselves, so we have personal experience. If you have time to spare you could also become a volunteer and possibly progress to be a member of the steering group! Every little helps - don't be shy come and give us a try!
- Other notes
We run regular events for parents, if you become a member we can contact you and give you the opportunity to attend. Come to one of our coffee mornings for a chat, some cake, meet other parents in a similar situation to yourself.
We also sit on strategic boards and are the parents voice in BwD.
Please see flyers below for more about BwD PIP, and our current events.
We also have a questionnaire you can complete to see what topics you would like more information on in the next year, 2020
Hope to see you soon!
