If staff at your child's school or nursery would like us to see your child, they will ask your consent before contacting us. If you give your consent, a member of our team will assess your child in school.
If we all agree that your child has specific difficulties with speech and language we will offer support. This usually includes:
1) An assessment of how your child's language difficulties are affecting them in school,
2) Advice and guidance to staff who work with your child about the nature of your child's difficulties and how they will affect learning
3) Support and training on the best ways to include your child in school
4) Guidance on how to improve your child's speech and language
The special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) in your child's school can refer to our team and should be your first point of contact to find out about accessing our service.
