Disability Links
Description
The Disability Links register is a voluntary register that parents and carers can elect to place their child’s name on. The register provides regular information about events, activities and support within the Blackburn with Darwen area, that children with disabilities and their parent/carers may find useful or enjoyable.
Disability Links can provide information about training for parents, invitations to events and provide advice and guidance about local activities and support groups. The Disability Links Co-ordinator works closely with the local Parent/Carer forum to ensure that the views of local parents and carers are at the heart of developing services for families of children with disabilities. An example of this is the 0-25’s Agenda.
The Disability Links Co-Ordinator is Ann Marie Pickering. The age group for inclusion on the Register is from birth to 25 years for the child/young person with a disability.
