(Parents in Partnership - BwD PIP) The Parent/Carer Forum for Blackburn with Darwen

pip logo Local Offer

Parents in Partnership are the parent carer forum within Blackburn with Darwen, for parents/carers of children/young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities from 0-25 years. We work in co-production with Children and Young Peoples' Services, Health, the Local Authority and voluntary groups and represent parents, feeding in their views in strategic meetings. Our aim is to influence and shape services for parents, carers and children/young people in the borough.

The parent carer forum is the recognised body for feeding back the views of parents/carers in the borough.

We are members of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums, and are backed by the charity "Contact - for disabled families".

BwD PIP is run by volunteers, we are all parents/carers of children with additional needs ourselves, so we have personal experience. If you have time to spare you could also become a volunteer and possibly progress to be a member of the steering group! Every little helps - don't be shy come and give us a try!

We are running "Bring Your Own Brew" coffee mornings, PIP Drop In's and Care Network Hub coffee mornings - see leaflets in Documents.

Also come and see what books we have in our library!

We aim to provide workshops/training for parents - feel free to contact us with suggestions.

See also our helpful hints on using Zoom, and our YouTube channel for Polly's videos on how to get onto Zoom, as well as a video of our office and where it is!
