Listening Books - a charity providing an audiobook library service

Listening Books is a national UK charity, providing an audiobook library service for those that find reading difficult due to an illness, disability, learning or mental health difficulty.

Members are able to borrow titles on MP3 CD, which are sent through the post via Royal Mail, or they can choose to borrow and download/stream titles on a computer or portable device such as an Android device or iPhone.

In total, we have over 7700 titles available for members to borrow, 3198 of which are suitable for children and young adults.

We add to the catalogue throughout the year and also record educational titles that support the National Curriculum and which are unavailable elsewhere in the audio format.

Why should I join Listening Books?

If you have an illness such as Parkinson's Disease, visual impairment, mental health difficulty or learning difficulty such as Dyslexia, which makes reading difficult, you can join Listening Books to gain access to over 7700 fantastic audiobooks for leisure and learning, and the best thing is, you can choose from 3 easily accessible formats! Our library boasts fiction and non-fiction titles for both adults and children. We support the National Curriculum from Key Stage 2 to A-level and record many texts and study guides that are not available elsewhere in the audiobook format. Both individuals and organisations such as schools can join.

We are a postal and internet-based library service and membership starts from as little as £20 per year.

So if you can't read, why not listen to audiobooks instead?
