WCMX is a fairly new but growing sport in the UK thats due to be added to the Paralympic Games in 2028, so in order to grow the sport we at the International WCMX Series (charity status pending) are setting up groups at skateparks across the UK.  The first ever session in Lancashire is at Junction 4 Skatepark in Darwen on the 2nd Saturday of each month 7pm - 10pm.

WCMX is the adaptive version of Freestyle BMX mixed with Skateboard skills where riders take their wheelchairs to the skatepark, the sport teaches wheelchair users advanced skills in a safe environment with pads and helmets. These skills have a huge impact on daily life and increasing independance such as dropping off curbs, bouncing up curbs or maybe how to safely get down a small set of steps or how to get up and down a steep slope. Sport is also extremely good to improve mental health these sessions provide a much needed social opportunity with other wheelies and mentors can be provided. 

The number 1 male in the UK is from Lancashire and will be at sessions when he's not off filming or competing so theres a fantastic opportunity to learn from a very experienced rider although parents may have to prepare themselves for the shock of seeing someone one wheel down a stair set or flip his wheelchair above him upside down on just 1 arm lol
