Family Autism Service

A partnership project with Child Action Northwest and Spring North, offering support for families across East Lancashire including Blackburn with Darwen with a child/children up to the age of 25, seeking or with an autism diagnosis. The project's primary objective is to offer low level support to parents/carers, and families with the focus on two key areas of support: education on autism and strategies to support parents.

Examples of service delivery are:

  • Parent support group 
  • Autism Awareness Sessions
  • Cygnet (6 weeks autism course) 
  • Workshop on relevant topics
  • Wellbeing Sessions
  • Social Activities for Families

The sessions are offered in different formats for example face to face or online throughout different times of the day. 

The service operates through submitting a referral (self or professional) which can be found on the CANW or Spring North website.
